July was a jam-packed month for us! We kickstarted the month with a graduation ceremony and a Pre-School trip for our 2024 school leavers. The children put on an amazing show for their family and friends, we were so proud of them! As the weeks went by, we took advantage of the warmer weather with lots of trips to the local parks and shops.
Graduation 2024!
In July we said goodbye to our 2024 school leavers with our annual graduation ceremony at Handsworth church. The children proudly sang songs that they had been practicing for weeks, to a full audience of their family and friends. They then walked the red carpet, receiving certificates and goody bags. We are so proud of everything these children have achieved, whether they started with us as babies, or joined this year. We wish them lots of happiness and success at their new schools; they are all amazing.
Pre-School Leavers Trip
To celebrate the end of the Pre-School children’s nursery journey, the children enjoyed a trip to the newly opened role-play, play area, ‘Pandyland’. The children had a fantastic morning role-playing various job roles, allowing for discussion of what they wanted to be “when they grow up”. Some of the occupations the children talked about were a vet, a beautician, and a gardener.
Trips to the park
The Toddler children have taken many trips to our local park – Handsworth Recreation Ground. They enjoyed testing themselves; taking part in lots of risky play on the large slide, seesaw and roundabout. A simple trip to the park has so many benefits for the children; movements associated with the park are essential for the development of children’s motor skills, balance, coordination and body awareness.
Jude’s Book Factory
Whilst on a trip to the local woodlands, our Rising Three’s and Pre-School children spotted a book that had been hidden in the trees. Upon closer inspection, we realised it was part of Jude’s Book Factory. We sat in the shade and listened to the story, then we hid it again for other children to find.
Staff Shout Outs!
Congratulations to Leah, who was voted our ‘Employee of the Month’ in July. Leah received lots of positive feedback from her fellow colleagues. Leah is a fantastic role model to her team and puts her all into her work. Well done Leah; we hope that you enjoyed your treat!

Take a look at Jude’s Book Factory on Facebook; books are hidden all across Sheffield, and some beyond. You could pack up a picnic and go on a book hunt! This is such a simple and cost effective activity that the children love to get involved with.
