A Busy, and Brilliant, November at The Little School House!

As the year continues to fly by, November has been another wonderfully busy and rewarding
month here at The Little School House. From welcoming families into the setting, to
enjoying enriching experiences with the children, it has truly been a month to remember.

Parent’s Evening

We began the month by welcoming parents to our bi-annual Parent’s Evening. This
provided a valuable opportunity for our team to share children’s progress, celebrate
achievements, and spend quality time catching up with families. Strong partnerships with
parents are incredibly important to us, and it was lovely to connect and work together to
support each child’s development.

Staff Training

November also saw us host our termly in-house training session. We were delighted to
welcome staff from both our setting, and our other branches, for an evening of professional
development. Training focussed on the latest Ofsted updates, alongside SEN training,
delivered by our experienced in-house SENCO Support team. Investing in our staff ensures we
continue to provide the highest quality care and education for all children.

Outdoor Learning

Despite the rainy weather throughout the month, our Baby Room made the most of their outdoor
learning opportunities. The children enjoyed collecting leaves from the garden to explore in
sensory trays, and used them to take part in autumn-themed activities. Outdoor water play was also a big
hit, with lots of pouring, filling, and transferring, in our water trays, supporting early physical
development and curiosity.

Library Trip

Our babies also enjoyed a trip to the local library, where they chose and shared books with
staff. Being located opposite the library is a real benefit, allowing us to make regular
use of community facilities, and nurture a love of books and reading from an early age.

Extra-Curricular Activities

November was also filled with exciting extra-curricular activities. Our babies took part in
Rhythm Time sessions, while our toddlers and pre-school children enjoyed Super Star Sports,
Cyro Sports, and a visit from Leanimals. These experiences offer wonderful opportunities
for physical development, confidence building, and learning through fun and exploration.
Finally, we were proud to take part in Children in Need, which was a highlight for both
children and staff. Everyone came to nursery in their pyjamas, and we baked delicious treats
for our bake sale. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our families, we raised an amazing
amount for a truly worthwhile cause. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, and helped
support this special day.

As we head into the final weeks of the year, we look forward to many more exciting moments
and memories together at The Little School House.
