Autumn Adventures at LSH

This month at The Little School House we have been focussing most of our activities around Halloween; the children were excited to share their plans for their costumes, and their love for ‘Trick or Treating’ and Halloween parties.

Pre-School had an amazing time dressing up for Halloween, they even competed to be crowned “best dressed”! The children loved making pumpkin soup, and craft ghosts with their own faces in the middle! We definitely had a day filled with lots of Halloween fun!

On the 17th October it was National Practitioner Day. The management team created their own little appreciation bags for the whole staff team and they also passed on some kind words to the staff as they presented them with their gifts.

Our Toddlers have been focussing more on Maths this month; they have used a range of resources to work on their knowledge of ‘little and big’, ‘heavy and light’, and ‘full and empty’. The Toddlers had lots of fun with the fruit, crates and natural resources to help them with their maths focus.

It was Baby Room’s turn to host a workshop this month, and their theme was Halloween. The staff set up different Halloween-themed activities that included pumpkin carving, slime making, ghost and pumpkin pictures, chocolate apple decorating, create your own trick or treat bag, and an autumn-themed sensory tray with natural materials. The children, staff and parents all had a fabulous morning taking part.

Our Babies also enjoyed getting ready for the fun of Bonfire night during the last few days of October. They made their own edible sparklers using breadsticks, melted chocolate and sprinkles.
